SANTIAGO.- The Minister of the Executive branch, José Antonio Viera-Gallo, denounced the total lack of will that the opposition has demonstrated towards solving the Transantiago dilemma, condemning their consistent rejection of every initiative aimed at improving the transportation system.
"If there has indeed been any error in the design or implementation, then the opposition has spearheaded an impressive obstructionist tenacity, except for Senator Bianchi (Independent). If it were not for him, we wouldn't have had any contributions at all (...)", declared Viera-Gallo on Radio Cooperativa.
He went on to critique the fact that the opposition talks at great lengths about defining things and starting anew, but "they refuse their votes, that is why we have had to revert to the Constitutional 2%. Ideally we could have dealt with this through legislative channels, but if we can't, we will have to take the administrative route", announced the Minister.
When asked who he would dialogue with on the side of the Alianza, the Secretary of State would not give a name, but asserted that they are willing to speak with "anyone and everyone" about the Transantiago initiative.
