Police capture burglars in Providencia

SANTIAGO. -  Police officers belonging to the 19th Commissary of Providencia were able to arrest three suspects that had staged a robbery early this morning at a clothing store located in the municipality of Providencia.

According to Radio Cooperativa, the incident took place at 4:00 AM today at the “Trapos” store, located near 16000 Avenida Providencia.  There, the suspects arrived and smashed the front window pane of the business to snatch clothing items that were on display.

During the attack, one of the burglars –who has yet to be identified— suffered a cut to one of his arms, allowing police, who were only blocks away from the site to catch up with the group.

According to reports, the items stolen during the robbery were worth approximately 450 thousand pesos. Police however, were able to recuperate all of the stolen inventory.
