Con el nombre de Glomo Awards, la organización mundial de operadores móviles (GSMA) premia año tras año a quienes hayan desarrollado iniciativas que busquen mejorar la aplicación, desarrollo y amplificación de la tecnología móvil alrededor del planeta.
Los Global Mobile Awards (GLOMO) reconocen a cualquier aplicación, plataforma, tecnología o servicio que pueda significar un cambio significativo al actual escenario y realidad de conectividad móvil a nivel planetario. Posee 8 categorías, quienes reconocen a 41 iniciativas por un panel de jueces, todos expertos en temáticas ad-hoc, de carácter independiente, siendo este año 2016 su vigésima primera edición de forma ininterrumpida.
Una ceremonia desarrollada en el marco de la décima versión del Mobile World Congress (MWC), que se desarrolla en Barcelona, fue difundida en directo a través del canal audiovisual de la mayor feria de tecnología móvil del planeta, contando con Suzi Perry y Ortis Deley como presentadores.
Al respecto, Michael O’Hara, gerente de marketing de GSMA indicó “ha sido un año increíble, con más de 930 postulantes, que luego fueron reducidos a 170 finalistas. Creemos que han realizado un gran trabajo para poder ser considerados por nuestro panel de jueces; además que es una instancia muy importante, al ser estos la 21ava ocasión en que se desarrolla este concurso”, expuso.
